In the main body of this bibliography will be found works relevant to a study of the Great War in Britain on a range of aspects such as the armed services, the civilian front, industry, politics, propaganda, and the media during the years of the war. Cultural aspects are covered by the inclusion of works on art, literature, music, the cinema, and the theatre relating not only to the years when the war was in progress but also to the years after the war had ended. Some general works and works of relevance specifically to the pre-war years are included in prefatory sections of the bibliography as background material. An appendix of some general and specialised research resources is provided for those interested in discovering other material which could be of assistance in a study of the Great War.
