I’ve been asked many times: why have I done this book series? Why have I written Break Through to Yes:Unlocking the Possible within a Culture of Collaboration? Why is this so important? Why did I lead the group that created the book Let’s Talk, a handbook for disputeresolution between companies in Company Dispute Resolution?I’ll tell you why. We need it. I need it. Our future needs it. Business is forced into silos and has to give up toan open an agile system that better suit today’s world and the future. We must create shared value. The cost ofcommand and control leadership are getting higher. During my 42-year career in the business, I’ve held titles including director, president, and chief operatingofficer. I have seen many and repeated failures, sometimes with the cost of billions.Collaboration is not an event, it’s a culture. It’s the way we work together. I am a lifelong student of how to getthe right people in the right place with the right information in the right mindset to figure out how to conquer challenges and solve conflicts together.Collaboration is a new field of study and success.Collaboration must evolve. Let’s learn together and make our world, communities, and families better. This book provides you with eight targeted chapters to help you build strong, sustainable and innovative collaborations and organizations. If you are serious about achieving better results, this Foundations for Collaboration is for you.
