When I started writing this book, it was on a day when I had just finished watching a Joyce Meyer segment. I turned off my television and went back to my computer and flipped to a ’new document’ screen. Within 15 or 20 minutes I had typed, approximately 35 to 40 pages. I stopped and began reading what I had typed. Totally amazed by what I read, my reaction was to dump all of the writing. For some reason I saved it and printed the pages out. At lunch time I sat down in the family room to eat while I listened to a Christian radio program I enjoy. To my amazement the preacher was giving scripture that I have used to support some of what I had written! Within a weeks time through the different Christian programs that I listened to, I had scripture to support everything that I had written on that first day. In my journey to find out exactly what the Christian walk should be, I found that God showed me that I am not the only one with these questions and that even though there are numerous books out there, just maybe my quirky way of explaining things might help others. When you find what Christianity is all about, you find that it is learning to listen to God. And even when people tell you that you’re nuts doing what God is directing you to do anyway. You can be a God pleaser or a people pleaser. There are many stories in the first part of the book that are interesting and show that whether people lived in, what is known as Bible days or even now, we’re the same. They were people that made mistakes, learned from them and moved on. There are numerous books on the shelves that are written by well known authors with degrees coming out of their ears. This book has been written for those of us that have questions we were afraid to ask. Especially, if we’d asked them before and just did not comprehend the answer. This journey has been a real eye opener to me in many ways. Those that have been a real support to

We’ve been duped into removing prayer from the center of our churches and have placed it on the periphery or semi-periphery.  What we’re witnessing today in our churches, and in society at large, is that legacy of prayerlessness.  Church leadership may be hesitant and embarrassed to admit it, but there is a direct correlation between our spiritual weakness and our lack of corpo...

If God is good, why do we get sick? When God created the world, He declared: "It is good." But then came the Fall, and with it sickness and death. In this heart-tugging monograph, Dr. Davis McGuirt draws from both his training in theology and the personal agony of watching his father die from cancer to provide a variety of biblical reasons for why we get sick. We are also remin...
