Once hated and reviled, Blizzard the Lizard was about to approach the king for one of the most important moments of his life. He trembled with nerves, knowing how much rested on this one act. The king had every reason to hate him, of course. But Blizzard was a changed dragon now, and he hoped the king could see that.As he approached the king, Blizzard’s heart sunk, but he stood his ground, and when the king asked him what he wanted, he spoke from the heart. He told the king he had done wrong, and he was sorry. He begged for forgiveness.At first, the king was hesitant - how could he trust an animal who had caused so much pain? But then he saw something in Blizzard’s eyes that gave him pause. This was no ordinary monster, he realized - this was a creature with forgiveness in his heart. And so, the king forgave him.Blizzard felt like a weight had been lifted from him. After a lifetime of hate, fear, depression, and anxiety, he had finally been shown mercy. And as walked away with the king, he knew that even though he didn’t deserve it, the kings mercy would never leave him.
