'Blessings By the Ocean is a fast-moving, action-packed, heartwarming story that will challenge your feelings and imagination. The story is narrated by the main character, Oscar (Ski) Jankowski. Ski is a young man who recently out of high school working in a coal mine in Halifax, Pennsylvania. He has a great desire to make more out of his life and his grandmother who he lives with, is encouraging him to do just that. With no college education, Ski decides he wants to be an Ocean City, Maryland lifeguard. An old man, Mr. Tyler, an Olympic gold medalist, who runs the local YMCA swimming pool agrees to train him. At the swimming pool, Ski meets a beautiful young lady, Kelly, who has been through a major tragedy in her young life. Kelly, Mr. Tyler, and Ski venture to Ocean City, Maryland to follow their dreams. As the story jumps into high gear the TKO Night Club plays a big part in their successful attempt to live by the ocean. A serious accident could cost Ski his life and totally destroy his life of becoming a lifeguard. As the story continues, Ski finds his long-lost mother who abandoned him as a baby. Several serious shark attacks come into the picture and Mr. Tyler, Kelly, and Oscar form the TKO Night Club partnership. As opportunities come their way, they quickly discover people are not all honest and truthful. A disaster strikes and the results look to be devastating to the young couple. Blessings By the Ocean is one book you will not want to put down.
