The whole Earth is being plagued by a series of shattering earthquakes, tsunamis, and loss of life. Many believe it foreshadows the end of the world. Geologist, Mark, investigates the strange earth movement and discovers a mind-blowing secret under the holy Mt. Kailas in Tibet. Mark meets Kusoom, the lovely and resolute leader of the cult. She tells him they are helping with the birth of a Great Being, who will soon be born and rise up out of the mountain to take them to the heavens. Instead of an apocalypse, the cracking up of the Earth is the opening of a cosmic egg. Mark is skeptical until she shows him proof deep in a cave under the mountain. As the ’great being’ breaks its way out of the mountain, powerful forces try to destroy what they see as a dangerous monster. Finally believing Kusoom’s story, and incidentally falling in lover with her, he leads her followers to fight back the attacking army. Many of her followers fall in the battle, and Mark and the Cosmic Swan are wounded. Kusoom and her followers surge onto the swan’s back, hoping to fly into the heavens, but the wounded swan’s wing fails and they fall.
