Komplikationen sind bei festsitzenden Metall-Keramik-Prothesen häufig und beträchtlich, obwohl über deren Langzeiterfolg berichtet wird. Angesichts des Mangels an solchen Daten auf lokaler Ebene war es das Ziel, Daten zu Komplikationen bei diesen Prothesen zu ermitteln. Bei Kronen und Brücken im Oberkiefer und im Seitenzahnbereich beider Bögen traten mehr Komplikationen auf. Komplikationen bei Kronen traten früher auf als bei Brücken. Im Allgemeinen hatte die Stelle, an der der Zahnersatz eingesetzt wurde, den größten Einfluss darauf, wo die Komplikationen gemeldet wurden. Biologische Komplikationen waren im Vergleich zu technischen Komplikationen vorherrschend. Sollte diese Arbeit für den Leser von Nutzen sein, so ist es mir eine Ehre.
