Bill, who is in charge of a section of Level 2, the Atonement Zone (a type of Purgatory), receives word of an extremely dangerous, upcoming attack on the wonderful family he has been protecting and subtly guiding for many years. He is worried that Jim and Vickie, the two people he sent back to earth as the family pets, Stumpy and Sheba, will not be up to the task of protecting them. He is wondering if he will ever make it to Level 1 and decides to warn Jim and Vickie of the impending disaster and tell them they may have to sacrifice themselves for the good of the family.
