The current situation in contemporary Nigerian Churches is something of great concern, issues where one observes prophetic and healing gymnastics replacing the ministry of the word. This type of situation suggests that it is almost impossible to differentiate when God is speaking and when human self is at play. In pursuit of self glory and personal interest by some of these contemporary preachers, sound biblical preaching and teaching that address all aspects of life seems to be missing. The latter presumably is the cause of extreme prosperity preaching, healing and deliverance, and miracles which have become the order of the day on media and in various places of Christian gatherings. It is observed that great majority of people prefer to rush to these places of worship where rebuke and correction is lacking from the Pulpit. In situating this problem, the research reckons not only with the biblical charge from Paul to Timothy, but also with current preaching, teaching/ correction issues in our Nigerian Churches. As a result of these happenings in the Church today, many Ministers prefer to preach what the majority like to hear. These current happenings are the reasons for this book.
