John Beumer III’s unwavering dedication to the field of Maxillofacial Rehabilitation has significantly shaped the discipline throughout his distinguished career. Beumer co-authored the first edition of this textbook alongside Drs. Curtis and Firtell, solidifying its position as the cornerstone for maxillofacial rehabilitation. As editor of subsequent editions and now as Distinguished Professor Emeritus, Beumer continues to play a pivotal role in advancing interdisciplinary care, having mentored Drs. Sharma and Jayanetti to co-edit this 4th edition.The rehabilitation of patients with head and neck disabilities remains one of the most complex challenges in medicine, requiring close collaboration across multiple disciplines.
