David Brelsford emigrated aged 22 and fell in love with Australia straightaway. ‘The only regret I have about coming here,’ he says, ‘is that I didn’t come earlier.’ He took up long distance running in his fifties and has undertaken charity runs to raise funds for Motor Neurone Disease research. He lives in Launceston, Tasmania, with his wife, pet spaniel, and two budgies. He has three sons and two grandsons. He enjoys gardening, likes running, loves classical music and is a mad keen square dancer.
