In diesem Buch werden allgemeine Grundlagen für die Beratung älterer Menschen zu altersgerechten Assistenzsystemen herausgearbeitet und dargestellt, warum eine sozialwissenschaftlich fundierte Konzeptionalisierung notwendig ist: Im ersten Teil werden ethische, soziale und rechtliche Aspekte sowie gesellschaftliche Rahmenbedingungen hinsichtlich der Einführung und Nutzung altersgerechter Assistenzsysteme analysiert und kritisch reflektiert. Ergänzt wird diese Darstellung um Ergebnisse einer empirischer Untersuchung, die der Frage nachgeht, welche spezifischen Herausforderung in der Beratung zu technsichen Assistenzsystemen bestehen und welche Lösungsansätze hilfreich sein können. Der zweite, praxisorientierte Teil soll Anleitung bieten, einen Beratungsprozess im Sinne einer lebensweltorientierten Grundhaltung zu konzipieren und zu strukturieren.
