Bella and Friends: The Great Mermaid Rescue will fascinate kids who love the sea. Bella, a Jack Russell terrier, is awakened by beautiful singing, which she follows to the beach where she lives. Bella and her doggy friends, Razz and Misty, meet some mermaids, who ask them to help rescue their mermaid children caught by fishermen. The dogs take their four human children masters to meet the mermaids, but before they can perform the rescue, the dogs are naughty and end up in 'doggy jail.' In their wanderings, they come across a new complex being built that is being overseen by a sinister man in a black car. The dogs take the children there to investigate. They discover that the new aquarium opens in less than a week, so the kids offer to help to find where the mermaid children are being held. Their first rescue attempt is foiled by the man in the black car. It’s up to Bella to rescue the rescuers! They try again with the help of the mermaids’ song, which puts humans to sleep. The dogs rouse the children and they save the young mermaids. But when the music stops, the security guards and the man in the black car are chasing them! Can Bella and her friends get the mermaids back to the beach in time?About the Author: Sherree Broadhurst has been writing her Bella series since 2007 for her grandchildren. She lives with her husband and her dogs Bella, Razz, and Penny in Victoria, Australia.
