Behind The Lies is a composite of three crime thrillers written by former Police Chief Mark R. Beckner. Follow the action and mystery in each story as detectives chase down the facts and suspects. Fast-paced and full of surprises. In the first story, the police must deal with a serial killer who has reappeared after a two-year absence to terrorize some of Chicago’s most crime-ridden neighborhoods. Who would want to kill a nice girl like Wendy? At the scene, one of Wendy’s shoes is missing, and police find an engraved ring nearby. Was Wendy killed somewhere else? Is the ring significant to her murder? Her best friend tells the police Wendy had a secret admirer who she was supposed to meet the night before. Could this unknown secret admirer be the killer? The small town’s only two detectives, Walker and Baker, must find the answers. The final story takes place in beautiful Castle Rock, Colorado. Justin King and Naomi Cooper have been meeting for the last six months for rendezvous of fun and sex. Naomi dreams of a future life with Justin, and he wants to make her dreams come true. There is only one problem. Naomi is married to Justin’s friend and business partner, Ryan Cooper. However, Justin has a plan. They need to kill Ryan so that Naomi will inherit her money and Ryan’s half of the business. She will then be free to marry Justin. Will the plan work? Naomi is not sure she can go along with the plan, but someone is going to die. Will Justin and Naomi get away with murder and live happily ever after? Or, will the police be able to sort it all out?
