Before They Came recreates the world lived by Africans before the onset of the white colonialists into the Africa. It tells a localized story of an orphaned boy, Ugagwu, who overcame daunting obstacles placed in his path to become “a prosperous farmer, a great hunter, a dancer, a great wrestler, a masquerader, a hero in battle, a renowned palm wine tapper and above all, a holder of three titles.” The book contains an explanation of the Igbo words and phrases and is directed at school-going children and youth willing to learn still useful lessons that can be gleaned from the African past.

    Udenta O. Udenta
In this highly challenging, provocative and sometimes, disturbing philosophical work, the author argues that reality is a function of value while value in turn projects three distinct properties: determination, affirmation and mediation.
