Die Mobilität steht vor einer Reihe wichtiger Herausforderungen. „Digitalisierung, Automatisierung, Vernetzung, neue mobilitätsbasierte Dienste, emissionsfreie Motoren, Urbanisierung und steigendes Mobilitätsaufkommen treiben diesen Wandel voran.' Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, die Bedeutung von Mobilitäts-Startups zu analysieren, d. h. ihre Rolle als Antwort auf die steigende und sich verändernde Mobilitätsnachfrage. Daher werden Herausforderungen im Bereich Mobilität und Faktoren untersucht, die neue Mobilitäts-Startups vorantreiben. Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf Mobilitäts-Startups in deutschsprachigen Ländern, die sowohl physische als auch digitale Mobilitätsdienstleistungen anbieten, d. h. Carsharing, Mitfahrgelegenheiten, E-Hailing, intermodale Mobilität und Parkdienstleistungen.
