Zu den ältesten Problemen der abendländischen Wissenschaftstradition gehört der Versuch, die Relation zwischen Nicht-Sprachlichem und Sprachlichem, zwischen Begriffen und Wörtern, zwischen Konzepten und Lexikoneinträgen angemessen zu beschreiben. Die Bedeutung war und ist dasjenige theoretische Konstrukt, das zur Vermittlung zwischen der Welt der Sprache und der Welt der Dinge - sei es im sprachsystematischen Feld der Linguistik oder im repräsentationalen Feld der Kognitionspsychologie - bevorzugt herangezogen wird. In diesem Band werden aktuelle Positionen vorgestellt, die aus der interdisziplinären Diskussion zwischen Linguisten und Psychologen die Leistungsfähigkeit unterschiedlicher Bedeutungskonzepte explizieren. Der Schwerpunkt liegt dabei auf der Weiterführung kontinentaleuropäischer Ansätze.
