A través de estas páginas Jorge Remes Lenicov –por entonces ministro de economía– explica cómo se logró implementar, en los primeros meses de 2002, un programa integral para superar la crisis y establecer los fundamentos básicos para una estrategia productiva.Para ello se adoptaron un conjunto de medidas (devaluación, pesificación de toda la economía, recomposición de los contratos, ordenamiento fiscal, retenciones a las exportaciones, acuerdo con las provincias, reprogramación de la deuda pública interna y del corralito heredado, y la recuperación de la política monetaria y cambiaria, entre otras), que permitieron rápidamente detener la crisis y volver a crecer, sin estallido social ni hiperinflación, buscando que nadie ganara a expensas de otros, que los costos de la crisis se distribuyeran lo más equitativamente posible y que las medidas adoptadas fueran sustentables y no dejaran problemas para el futuro. Prueba de ello es que durante el quinquenio siguiente se las mantuvo y la macroeconomía tuvo un excelente comportamiento. 10
