Sono state condotte pochissime ricerche sull’adattamento emotivo dei bambini all’interno delle famiglie che affrontano la malattia di Crohn; tuttavia, determinare l’adattamento emotivo dei bambini all’interno delle famiglie che affrontano la malattia di Crohn è fondamentale per lo sviluppo sano dei bambini e degli adolescenti. Questo studio cerca di scoprire se i risultati dei bambini, tra cui ansia/depressione e isolamento, sono associati alla struttura familiare, al sostegno sociale, alla speranza e al funzionamento familiare nelle famiglie con genitori affetti da malattia di Crohn. Lo studio è stato condotto utilizzando un sondaggio su Internet. I risultati hanno evidenziato una correlazione tra l’adattamento emotivo dei bambini e aspetti quali la dimensione della famiglia, l’attività della malattia, il funzionamento familiare e la capacità di affrontare la malattia.
