Głównym celem niniejszej pracy, opartej na analizie ilościowej, jest podkreślenie związku między zwrotem z akcji brazylijskich spółek państwowych (Banco do Brasil, Eletrobras i Petrobras) a zmiennymi makroekonomicznymi i ekonomiczno-finansowymi, a także ilościowe określenie wpływu tych zmiennych na zwrot z akcji w okresie od sierpnia 1994 r. do lipca 2014 r. Do przeprowadzenia tego badania wykorzystano wielokrotną regresję liniową, przy pomocy testu korelacji i testu współczynników inflacji wariancji (VIF) w celu analizy współliniowości. Modele wielokrotnej regresji liniowej wykazały, że niektóre zmienne miały bardzo wysokie wartości p, więc niektóre zmienne zostały wykluczone, aby model miał wysoki poziom ufności. Jednak istnienie wpływowych zmiennych można zaobserwować zarówno w badaniu ze zmiennymi makroekonomicznymi, jak i w badaniu ze zmiennymi ekonomiczno-finansowymi, gdzie najniższy współczynnik determinacji wynosił nieco ponad 50 procent, a największy model z najwyższym współczynnikiem wynosił 99 procent.
