Ścieki przemysłowe zostały poddane obróbce porównawczej w obu instalacjach, a ta, która spowodowała największą denitryfikację, została wykorzystana do przetwarzania kolumnowego, wraz z techniką obróbki wstępnej zwaną koagulacją i flokulacją w celu usunięcia całkowitej zawiesiny ciał stałych, zapachu i pewnego stopnia koloru. Koagulację i flokulację przeprowadzono jako technikę obróbki wstępnej z użyciem koagulantów, takich jak ałun, CaCo3 i PVA. Technika obróbki wstępnej została przeprowadzona poprzez zmianę ilości ałunu (v/v) i czasu kontaktu (min). Po wstępnym oczyszczeniu ścieków z huty przeprowadzono obie przyjęte techniki oczyszczania. W związku z tym badanie porównawcze między dwiema roślinami strączkowymi, Tamarindus indica i Vigna radiata, w pewnym stopniu zmniejszyło zawartość azotanów, a etap immobilizacji doprowadził do maksymalnego stopnia denitryfikacji.
