Tested in different ways, a close-knit family and friends struggle to maintain their integrity and values amid increasingly threatening times. By 2027, the time when the novel opens, the family is under direct threat from persons unknown for reasons unknown. Dr. Michael Smith, a university professor is not the man he pretends to be. However, he is not the only one pretending to be someone they are not. As Jeff’s health deteriorates and the threats continue, the family wishes more than ever, they could go Back Through the Tunnel.
