Este livro aborda a importância de uma pesquisa realiza em uma instituição do ensino superior privada em uma IES alagoana, na área da avaliação institucional interna. A implantação do sistema nacional de avaliação da educação superior- SINAES, sistema instituído pela lei 10.861/2004 que sistematizou o processo da avaliação para garantir a qualidade na educação superior. Com a implantação do SINAES que tem como proposta avaliar a instituição e mobilizaras IES para criação das comissões próprias de avaliação (CPA), constituídas pelos docentes, discentes, técnico administrativo e membros da comunidade; com a responsabilidade de realizar e legitimar todo o processo da autoavaliação conforme calendário acadêmico da IES, com emissão dos relatórios, apresentando os problemas e desafios no futuro próximo. O objetivo deste trabalho foi verificar através dos relatórios os resultados da autoavaliação institucional e as contribuições das melhorias internas no processo de gestão de uma IES privada no município de Maceió, Alagoas no período de 2013 a 2015. Foi utilizada a aplicação de um questionário aos gestores e membros da CPA sobre a importância deste instrumento como medidor de qualidade de ensino. A pesquisa verificou que a avaliação institucional interna é uma ferramenta positiva na melhoria contínua da qualidade educacional e na gestão educacional, sendo constatada uma evolução através dos dados da IES e um olhar mais comprometido dos gestores e dos membros da CPA. A avaliação institucional interna se configura, atualmente, o caminho mais eficaz e necessário paraa implementação das mudanças e melhorias nas IES. Esta pesquisa conclui que este instrumento poderia ser mais valorizado e discutido a sua prática no âmbito do Ensino Superior, devido o grau de ampliação diagnóstica e situacional o qual a mesma se propõe. 10
