Este estudo fornece uma compreensão abrangente da qualidade da água e das características texturais dos sedimentos do núcleo do rio Vamanapuram, Kerala. Os parâmetros físico-químicos do rio estavam dentro dos limites aceitáveis do BIS para a água potável, exceto no caso da amostra colhida na costa de Anchuthengu. A análise bacteriológica do rio indicou contaminação microbiana em todas as amostras de água. No presente estudo, uma descoberta significativa foi a redução gradual do tamanho do grão ao longo da direção a jusante. Esta descoberta é atribuída principalmente ao mecanismo de transporte diferencial do rio, que é controlado por variações na descarga média, velocidade da água e variação sazonal.
