Leider wurde dies durch die Moderne und die Zivilisation untergraben. Veränderungen sind unvermeidlich. Die heutige Igbo-Gesellschaft sollte jedoch vorsichtig sein, ihr gutes kulturelles Erbe zu vernachlässigen, denn Kultur ist die Identität eines Volkes.
