Zwischen 1904 und 1907 nahm Friedrich Küstner Spektren verschiedener Sterne auf, um mithilfe des Doppler-Effekts die Astronomische Einheit zu bestimmen und auf diesem Weg die Genauigkeit seines Spektrographen zu testen. Einige dieser historischen Spektralaufnahmen blieben bislang unausgewertet.In der vorliegenden Arbeit wurde ein solcher Datensatz, bestehend aus Spektren des Sterns Alpha Persei, erstmals digitalisiert und computergestützt ausgewertet. Der Schwerpunkt der nachfolgenden Analyse liegt auf der Frage, inwiefern eine Bestimmung der Astronomischen Einheit und der Spektralklasse auf Grundlage dieser Daten möglich ist.Auf den Ergebnissen der Analyse aufbauend werden Vorschläge für ein Praktikum vorgestellt, das in einer Astrophysik-Veranstaltung im Master of Education durchgeführt werden könnte. Anhand eines konkreten Entwurfs wird diskutiert, wie ein solcher Einsatz didaktisch eingebettet und praktisch umgesetzt werden könnte.
