Les banques de souscription jouent un rôle essentiel dans la réussite d’une introduction en bourse (IPO), considérée comme une importante source de financement pour les entreprises malaisiennes. Cette étude vise à fournir des éléments sur les caractéristiques des preneurs fermes qui influent sur le niveau de sous-évaluation des prix lors des introductions en bourse en Malaisie. Ces éléments s’appuient sur l’application des théories relatives aux introductions en bourse, qui reposent sur l’asymétrie de l’information entre les parties à l’introduction en bourse, les sociétés émettrices, les souscripteurs et les investisseurs. Les éléments trouvés dans cette étude soutiennent le consensus des preuves internationales existantes selon lesquelles la sous-évaluation des prix des introductions en bourse augmente ou diminue en fonction des attributs des banques souscriptrices. Ces résultats ont des implications pour les sociétés émettrices, les investisseurs et les analystes en valeurs mobilières.
