O logocentrismo é a crença de que existe uma realidade última ou um centro da verdade que pode servir de base para todos os pensamentos e ações. Todas as estruturas ou sistemas se orientavam através de um centro, um momento em que a substituição de elementos cessava, algo que fixava ou mantinha a estrutura no lugar. A história do conceito de estrutura pode ser lida como uma série de substituições de centro por centro, de uma cadeia de determinações do centro (em termos de ser/presença/plenitude/positividade). A desconstrução questiona os julgamentos definitivos, a clareza, a organização, a hierarquia e a solidariedade desses centros.
