'Dieser Atlas ist in der Voraussetzung entstanden, dass es trotz des Vorhandenseins von trefflichen, kürzeren Lehrbüchern und Kompendien sowie von guten, umfangreichen Atlanten doch an einem Buche fehlt, welches dem Studierenden wie dem Praktiker Gelegenheit gibt, seine immerhin noch sparsamen Eigenbeobachtungen und Untersuchungen in Klinik und Ambulatorium möglichst klar und mannigfaltig durch die Anschauung zu ergänzen.Bei dem Wiedererscheinen dieses Bandes ist in sehr umfänglicher Weise von dem technischen Fortschritte Gebrauch gemacht worden, zu dem alle Beteiligten sich „ eingearbeitet ' haben. Den Text habe ich knapp gehalten, wenn auch in allen Kapiteln in Bezug auf neue wissenschaftliche Errungenschaften ergänzt. Den Hauptwert legte ich auf die Förderung des Original-Bildermateriales nach frischen Autopsie- und Operations-Präparaten sowie nach den Lebenden. 'Der Verlag der Wissenschaften verlegt historische Literatur bekannter und unbekannter wissenschaftlicher Autoren. Dem interessierten Leser werden so teilweise längst nicht mehr verlegte Werke wieder zugängig gemacht.Dieser Atlas und Grundriss der Gynäkologie ist ein unveränderter, hochwertiger Nachdruck der Originalausgabe der zweiten Auflage von 1899. Illustriert mit über 260 historischen schwarz-weiß Abbildungen.
