Assassins Book 03 Part 01 A Family Affair

The illusion of peace is shattered for Daniel and Bailey when it becomes clear that the cult they believed defeated remains an active and predatory threat. Their fragile freedom is further complicated by the arrival of mysterious new figures whose motives are unclear, leaving the pair caught in a paranoid limbo between potential allies and hidden enemies. The tension escalates with the appearance of an unwanted relative who brings harrowing intelligence: the cult is not only surviving but is actively planning a devastating second strike. Former assassins Marcus and Lucas, recognizing that Daniel is marked for death, force Daniel and Bailey back into the restrictive safety of bodyguards. Even though they are friends, they resent being constantly watched. However, they also know that it’s necessary to be under the protection once again. In the quiet gaps between the chaos and the struggle to maintain family harmony, they find small, grounding moments of joy, finding solace in the simple, eccentric act of painting their dogs. Only Cosmo and Harold don’t have the patient to be painted, which leads to hilarious scenes. However, the psychological toll mounts when Daniel suffers a jarring shock, spotting someone who should have long since been dead. This revelation coincides with the discovery of an unsuspecting individual who has unknowingly become the cult’s next target. Left entirely unprotected and oblivious to the danger, this person becomes a ticking clock for the protagonists. Once again, Daniel and Bailey must step into the role of protectors, prepared to do whatever is necessary to ensure the survival of those caught in the cult’s crosshairs. It seems that the cult is playing cat and mouse with the men. Only, who is the cat and who is the mouse?
