Asmodeus At Large is a novel written by Edward Bulwer Lytton in 1833. The book is set in Paris and follows the adventures of a young Englishman named Clarence Glyndon. Glyndon is an artist who is struggling to find inspiration for his work. One day, he meets a mysterious stranger named Asmodeus who offers to help him find inspiration. Asmodeus takes Glyndon on a journey through the streets of Paris, showing him the city’s dark underbelly and introducing him to a variety of intriguing characters. Along the way, Glyndon becomes embroiled in a series of dangerous and supernatural events, including a duel with a jealous lover and a battle with a demon. As he navigates these challenges, Glyndon begins to question his own sanity and wonders if he has fallen under Asmodeus’s spell. The novel is a Gothic tale that explores themes of temptation, corruption, and the dangers of obsession. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
