As Primaveras (1867) is a novel by Brazilian author Casimiro Jos Marques De Abreu. The story follows the life of a young boy named Carlos who grows up in the countryside of Brazil during the mid-19th century. The novel is divided into four parts, each representing a different season of the year, with the first part being spring (Primavera in Portuguese). As Carlos grows up, he experiences various challenges and changes, including the loss of his mother, the departure of his father to the city, and the arrival of a new stepmother. Throughout these changes, Carlos develops a strong connection to nature, finding solace and comfort in the changing seasons and the natural world around him. As Primaveras is considered a classic of Brazilian literature, known for its lyrical prose and evocative descriptions of nature. The novel explores themes of love, loss, family, and the relationship between humans and the natural world. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
