Ars Sacra, o arte sagrado, siempre ha sido una parte integral de la Iglesia Católica Romana. Desde los frescos de Giotto y Michelangelo, hasta los lienzos de Caravaggio y las esculturas de Donatello, las iglesias de toda Italia y de todo el mundo han albergado numerosas obras de arte que exploran los misterios centrales de la fe con imágenes que iluminan las escrituras e interpretan significado para aquellos que buscan una mayor comprensión de nuestro propósito divino en la vida.Encargada por la Arquidiócesis Católica Romana, y después de un período de estudio bíblico y teológico, la artista italiana Carla Carli Mazzucato comenzó el proceso de creación de imágenes para una serie de catorce pinturas que se convertirían en las Estaciones de la Cruz para la Iglesia de Corpus Domini en Bolzano. Italia. En su distintivo estilo moderno-expresionista, Mazzucato eligió presentar no solo la historia bíblica tradicional de Jesucristo, sino también su interpretación temática de cómo Su vida y sacrificio impactan a cada uno de nosotros personalmente en el complejo y moderno mundo en el que vivimos.Este libro es una presentación de la serie de pinturas al óleo originales Rostros de la Redención de Mazzucato que se instaló en la iglesia de Corpus Domini, Bolzano, Italia en 1991. El libro también presenta la serie Via Crucis del artista de catorce grabados originales en madera que también exploran el misterio central de la fe en nuestra búsqueda del entendimiento. Cada imagen va acompañada de las propias reflexiones del artista sobre el ejemplo divino de Jesús revelado a través de su historia.Se encuentran disponibles tres ediciones del libro, en inglés, italiano y español.
