An ArchitecturalPerformance Model is based on selecting from theArchitectural Patterns for Parallel Programming(descriptions of coodinations commonly used inParallel Programming), a component simulator(representing a simulation of a processingcomponent’s behaviour), and a performance analysis ofparallel applications (in which the information onsystem performance is examined). Parallel programssimulated using the Architectural PerformanceModelling Method range from a complete parallelprogram to a partially implemented program design.The simulation of parallel systems, using theinformation about the problem to be solved, theavailable resources, and architectural patternsdescribing overall coordinations of the parallelprograms, makes it possible to identify the bestperforming architectural solution for the systembeing built.
