Aquaculture in recent times has assumed importance as a source of affordable protein for masses with a significant potential for supplementing livelihood in a rural economy. The importance of aquaculture in present scenario becomes very significant as in our country aquaculture is now developing as a promising industry which besides producing protein will generate income provide employment to the rural people earn foreign currency and also help to alleviate poverty.
