Las escuelas a menudo no acompañan esas disposiciones; hacerlo supone replantear no sólo el plan de estudios, sino también las actividades, al diseñar proyectos interesantes y significativos que incluyan los intereses de los alumnos. Si queremos abrazar las posibilidades de la vida moderna, es imprescindible apoyar la idea de construir de manera colaborativa nuevos conocimientos. Nuestros estudiantes deben ser conscientes de las maneras en que el nuevo conocimiento puede ser útil y beneficioso para otros en su mundo.¿Cómo preparamos mejor a todos los estudiantes para que formen sus propias vidas, participen en un mundo cada vez más interconectado, sean responsables y contribuyentes?
