Dans cette étude, les images du radiomètre spatial avancé d’émission et de réflexion thermiques (ASTER) ont été utilisées pour cartographier la lithologie, les zones d’altération liées à la minéralisation aurifère et les structures géologiques de la région de Fawakhir, dans le désert central oriental de l’Égypte. L’intégration du rationnement des bandes et de l’analyse en composantes principales (ACP) a été utilisée pour déterminer clairement les unités lithologiques de la zone d’étude. Des visites sur le terrain et des examens microscopiques en laboratoire de sections minces et polies ont été utilisés pour le processus de validation.
