Dieses Projekt fand in einem Unternehmen statt, das torrefizierte Biomassepellets herstellt. Ziel war es, eine Lean-Methode anzuwenden, um die Arbeitsplatzbedingungen für die Mitarbeiter des Unternehmens zu verbessern. Bei dieser Methode handelte es sich um die 5S-Methode, der ein neues S hinzugefügt wurde, das die Sicherheit betraf. Der Produktionsprozess wurde auch anhand des Indikators für die Gesamteffizienz der Anlagen vor und nach der Einführung der 5S+1-Methode charakterisiert.
