This explores the Antecedents of Employee Work Behavior within organizations in different sectors. It deliberated constructs of Proactive Work Behavior including: Taking Charge, Employee Voice Expression, Employee Orientation, Innovation and Perceived Supervisor Support. Proactive Work Behavior is a scenario where employees take personal initiative, and or self initiated actions that are future guided, while maintaining high standards as far as quality is concerned. It entails anticipating, planning and acting to bring about change. Developing a culture of Proactive Work Behavior among employees is important because it helps them take personal initiative, take charge, be innovative and communicate with intent to improve the way work is conducted and hence improve on service delivery. It is expected of employees to improve in their service delivery occasioned by new demands and expectations from the customers hence the need to embrace Proactive Work Behavior as one of the ways that can be used to enhance performance in Organizations. Proactive competitive posture has to do with how a firm anticipates and acts on future needs, by seeking new opportunities and way of work.
