Ánimas de día claro, Parecido a la felicidad y El paraíso semiperdido fueron estrenadas en 1962, 1959, y 1958, respectivamente, con gran éxito de público. Su autor, Alejandro Sieveking, es uno de los dramaturgos más prolíficos de la llamada Generación del 50, grupo que integran también Jorge Díaz, Egon Wolff y Sergio Vodanovic, entre otros. A pesar de la diversidad formal y de contenidos, todas las obras de Sieveking tienen aspectos que les son comunes: el realismo, sea éste psicológico, social o crítico, y lo folclórico popular. Las tres obras que presentamos en este volumen son fieles representantes de la creación del autor: Ánimas de día claro se inscribe dentro de un teatro popular, basado en mitos y leyendas, mientras que Parecido a la felicidad y El paraíso semiperdido tienen rasgos más ligados al realismo psicológico y social.
