Life is an ocean of experiences, an eternal alternation of conflicts and resolutions. It is a source of contingencies but also growth. For centuries, to give a satisfactory answer to what was happening around him, man sought help in the past, looking to the great minds that have populated it. Likewise, the author of this book turns his gaze to the greatest philosophers of ancient Greece, whose words are, even today, a source of inspiration and reflection. Combining his personal life and work experience as a psychologist and psychotherapist with the teachings left to us by authors such as Aristotle or Epictetus and stories from Greek mythology, the author wants to offer his contribution, demonstrating, through clear examples, how it is possible to employ new approaches in the field of psychotherapy, based on the teachings of great authors of the past and with amazing results. Nicolas Archontoulis is a lic. psychologist and lic. psychotherapist who was born in Piraeus, Greece. After being a seaman and then working as a locomotive engineer, he studied at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, and became a psychologist. He has a very long and broad experience in the field of psychotherapy, in which he follows different streams of science. He’s been working with the practical combination of Greek philosophy and mythology in psychotherapy for a long time, and he has created a very interesting approach and skills in understanding and counseling people. He lives in Sweden, but he’s been working and teaching even abroad.Ancient Greek Philosophy, Science and Psychotherapy contains many of his experiences and creations with the taste and fragrant smells of a garden.
