Das Projekt zur Unterstützung landwirtschaftlicher Aktivitäten (P3A) bei der Umsetzung von Maßnahmen in den Bereichen Kleinviehzucht und der Verarbeitung von Maniok zu Gari ... hat neue Praktiken und Innovationen in die Lebensweise der begünstigten Bevölkerung eingeführt. Die neuen Praktiken werden von einigen nicht gut aufgenommen. Diese Situation wirft die Frage nach nachhaltigen Veränderungen auf, die im Zuge eines Entwicklungsprojekts eingetreten sind. Die bedauerliche Feststellung lautet: Die Menschen ändern sich nicht, und ihr Lebensumfeld ebenfalls nicht. Um die Gründe für diese Situation besser zu verstehen, haben wir uns zwei Fragen gestellt: Wie lassen sich durch ein Projekt nachhaltige Veränderungen bewirken? Gibt es Faktoren, die nachhaltige Veränderungen auch außerhalb von Entwicklungsprojekten auslösen? Die Antworten auf diese beiden Fragen haben uns gezeigt, dass es notwendig ist, die internen Dynamiken soziokultureller Gruppen bei der Konzeption und Umsetzung von Entwicklungsprojekten zu berücksichtigen.
