Die Röntgensichtbarkeit ist eine obligatorische Eigenschaft für alle Dentalmaterialien. Diese Eigenschaft ermöglicht es, das Material durch Röntgenaufnahmen von Zahnoberflächen zu unterscheiden. Portlandzement (PC) hat ähnliche physikalisch-chemische und biologische Eigenschaften wie Mineraltrioxid-Aggregat (MTA), mit Ausnahme des Röntgenschutzmittelpartikels. Die Röntgensichtbarkeit von MTA, PC und PC mit Zusatz der Röntgenschutzmittel Jodoform, Bleioxid, Zirkoniumoxid, Bismutsubnitrat, Bariumsulfat und Bismutoxid in Anteilen von 15 %, 20 % und 30 % wurde analysiert.
