I segnali vengono trasmessi a una distanza di 10.000 km con una spaziatura dei canali di 100 GHz nella banda ottica convenzionale (1530-1565 nm). Il DWDM viene utilizzato con una spaziatura dei canali di 100 GHz e la larghezza di banda del sistema progettato è di 4500 GHz.
