When grade 8 student, Finnegran Fumbel changes schools to get away from ongoing bullying, he does not know he is about to be exposed to a week of unfortunate events. On his first day at the new school, and after being left behind following a science excursion at a nature reserve to the north of the city, he waits for someone to come and get him. And that turns out to be a long wait.But when someone does come, Finnegran’s week takes many unexpected twists.And while things don’t work out as he would have hoped, Finnegran is exposed to interesting new experiences. And because of these experiences he finds courage that he never knew he had.Unfortunately, for Finnegran, not all adventures, and not all courageous acts turn out for the better. For most young boys, what Finnegran lived through would result in a week they would never forget.Unfortunately for Finnegran, it was a week that he did forget.
