''Amynor and Theodora, or The Hermit'' is a three-canto poem written by David Mallet and published in 1748. The poem tells the story of two lovers, Amynor and Theodora, who are separated by their families’ disapproval of their relationship. Amynor becomes a hermit and lives in a cave, while Theodora is forced to marry another man. The poem explores themes of love, loss, and the struggle between duty and desire.
