Nel mezzo della peggiore crisi dei rifugiati della storia, con il numero di rifugiati nel mondo che ha superato i 22,5 milioni (OHCHR 2017), è imperativo trovare soluzioni reali, durature e responsabilizzanti alle loro esigenze. Dobbiamo chiederci: come possiamo servire al meglio questi rifugiati e i Paesi che li ospitano? Quali sono i bisogni dei rifugiati che rimangono elusi? I programmi rivolti ai rifugiati si occupano tradizionalmente dei loro bisogni fisici, come cibo, vestiti, riparo e medicine, mentre i loro bisogni finanziari vengono trascurati. Inoltre, i programmi che generano reddito non rispondono alle esigenze di conservare, risparmiare, inviare e/o ricevere denaro in modo sicuro. Questo documento è uno studio di ricerca multidisciplinare sulla concettualizzazione e l’implementazione di programmi di alfabetizzazione finanziaria nei campi profughi della Tanzania.
