This paper attempts to evaluate the moral horizon of technical phenomena and locate their ethical framework. This is done by comparing and discussing the phenomena of the internet and the darknet. The main focus is on discussing the thesis of whether technology can be understood as a promise and when this promise can be considered fulfilled.
