The quest. In the quest to maintain a valid and sure prayer and reading life many miss the ideal of maintaining the source of the virtue flowing through their lives. Their eyes are all on grace; the ideal being it has all been done for us. We quickly forget it did not just take the mercy or forgiveness of God. There was an altaration made in heaven by the blood. The blood that if you stop drinking from the same altar you loose your spiritual life. Simplistically the Holy Communion upon Holiness and a few other things do keep us altared to the grace found in Christ. Meaning there is a call to sustaining or servicing the altar of God that carries the blood of Jesus.John 6:47-58 KJV Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. I am that bread of life. Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat? Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for everThere are two independent statements in the above set of scripture. One carries the emphasis of picking the Christian everlasting life and the other maintenance of that life. Meaning if you get that life and do not maintain it; you loose it. So it is of uttermost importance not just to know how to receive the life abundant or everlasting life but upon receiving it and above it all you should know and understand how to keep or service or maintain it. Or else you pick it just to loose it, which will mean you did obtain in vain.Whenever maintaining the Christ life is mentioned sanctification or holiness or perfection or purity is mentioned first which is vital for it is the key to abiding before God and even appearing before Him. Then comes the ideal of being a constant part of the kingdom and being manifest and even growing to the fullness of your purpose in Christ and in your personal life; it takes a discerning heart to know that Christianity was earned and if it was earned it has to be maintained. The ideal that it took blood to start it, it means it will take more blood to maintain it. The thing is, who’s blood? The blood that first washed you. You need to constantly partake of what was earned by Christ for you to maintain the altar of the blood of Christ. Let us first touch on Holiness then the other latter needed services to maintain the altar of Christianity.
