I Songul ’Diamond’ Oruc, am the first Woman World Kickboxing Champion in Australia. In the 1990s, women were not permitted to fight in the ring. With persistence and determination, I changed laws so that women were allowed to fight in all states and territories of Australia. It was a time when women were not accepted as equals. I proudly held the following Titles: East Coast, South Pacific, Australian Kickboxing, World Champion Kickboxing, World Champion Thai-boxing, and held United States of America’s number one rank in professional boxing. After retirement, as a professional boxer and living in Las Vegas, my passion for justice, law and equality inspired me to pursue a career in law school.
